Marlen joined Centerdata in 2020 as a student assistant and later worked as a research assistant in the IT and software development department. Since 2025, she has been a researcher in the Cross-national survey projects team, contributing to large international studies such as ESS (European Social Survey), EVS (European Values Study), and SHARE (Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe).
As a project leader within CRONOS, she coordinates support for countries using the DataCTRL tool suite. Her work includes questionnaire programming, developing user documentation, and preparing datasets in accordance with international standards. She has a particular interest in digital accessibility in web surveys and inclusive interface design for diverse participant groups.
Marlen holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Padua and a Master’s degree in Sociology and Social Research from the University of Trento. She completed an extended Master’s program through a double degree with Tilburg University, where she strengthened her training in quantitative methods. Her research interests include immigration, inequality, and education.
