About Eric Balster
Eric has been working as head of IT & Development at Centerdata since May 2009. He studied Business Administration at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, specializing in Management of Change.
Before joining Centerdata, he worked as a service manager and project manager at Statistics Netherlands. There he gained experience with the technology for different forms of data collection. Before that, he worked for ten years (from 1996 to 2006) in various positions at the IT division of the ministry of defense. During that time, he gained a lot of experience in IT and managing complex projects and departments.
In addition to his day-to-day responsibilities regarding the department and projects for clients, Eric is also coordinator of the Centerdata contribution to European projects like SHARE (Survey of Health Ageing and Retirement in Europe), ESS (European Social Survey) and GGP (Gender and Generations Programme).
Eric is responsible for Information Security & Privacy within Centerdata. He is also responsible for the administration and maintenance of IT infrastructures, as well as for the collection, processing, dissemination and archiving of research data.
