About Eric Balster
Eric has been working at Centerdata since 2009 as Head of IT & Development. Prior to joining Centerdata, he worked as a service manager and project manager at Statistics Netherlands (CBS), where he gained experience with the technologies used in various forms of data collection.
Prior to that, he spent ten years (1996–2006) in various roles at the Ministry of Defence’s IT organisation. During this period, he gained extensive IT experience, particularly in service management and in leading complex programmes, projects, and departments. Eric studied Business Administration at Erasmus University Rotterdam, specialising in change management.
Eric is a member of Centerdata’s management team and is responsible for the Software Development & Data Infrastructures and Cross-national Survey Projects teams. He also oversees the management team portfolios for Product Development & Innovation, Information Security & Privacy Protection, and System Administration (the management and maintenance of Centerdata’s server and application infrastructure for the collection, processing, dissemination, and archiving of research data).
