Maartje is a senior researcher in Survey and Consumer Research. She develops and programs survey and experimental research, provides for online data collection (in and outside the LISS panel), analyses the data and reports the results. She has conducted a large number of research projects for ministries, universities and the European Commission.
Maartje completed the two-year Research Master of Social and Behavioural Sciences (cum laude; 2010) as well as her PhD in Psychology at Tilburg University. Her dissertation, titled “Vengeance”, focused on identifying the core characteristics of vengeance. During her studies, Maartje worked as a tutor, research assistant, teaching assistant, and lab coordinator. After finishing her PhD, she worked as a lecturer in the Human-Technology Interaction group at Eindhoven University of Technology (2014-2015). As a lecturer, she taught several courses, such as Behavioural Research Methods, Advanced Social Psychology, and Advanced Consumer Behaviour.
