Since June 2025, Teun has been working at Centerdata as a researcher in the Policy Research & Analysis department. He contributes to a wide range of projects in the fields of education, consumer research, and data science. In addition, he is actively involved in the Survey Research department, where he focuses on innovative applications within the LISS panel, such as data donation and online experimental designs.
Teun obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2017, followed by a Research Master’s in Social and Behavioral Sciences at Tilburg University, which he completed cum laude in 2019. He then earned his PhD in Media Psychology at the University of Amsterdam (Amsterdam School of Communication Research, ASCoR). His doctoral research focused on the impact of social media on the well-being of adolescents, with particular attention to distraction, self-regulation, sleep, and stress. He continued this line of research during a one-and-a-half-year postdoctoral position.
Teun has extensive experience with complex analytical methods and intensive, longitudinal data collection. His methodological expertise includes experience sampling (ESM), data donations, smartphone tracking, eye tracking, and thermal imaging.
