Teun has been working at Centerdata as a researcher in the Policy Research & Analytics team since June 2025. In this role, he contributes to various projects in the fields of data science, education, and broad well-being. He is also actively involved in innovative applications within the LISS panel, such as data donation.
In 2017, Teun completed his bachelor’s degree in Psychology, followed by a Research Master’s in Social and Behavioral Sciences at Tilburg University, which he graduated from cum laude in 2019. He then earned his PhD at the University of Amsterdam (Amsterdam School of Communication Research, ASCoR) in the field of media psychology. His doctoral research focused on the impact of social media on adolescents’ well-being, with particular attention to topics such as distraction, self-regulation, sleep, and stress. After completing his PhD, he continued this line of research as a postdoctoral researcher.
Teun has extensive experience with advanced analytical methods and intensive, longitudinal data collection. He works with cutting-edge techniques such as experience sampling (ESM), data donations, smartphone tracking, eye tracking, and thermal imaging.
