As of the start of 2026, Centerdata transitioned to a new organizational model. With this change, we are taking an important step towards achieving our ambitions for the years ahead. The model focuses on professionalization through flexibility, collaboration, and autonomy, and creates room for expansion and growth within Centerdata.

In the new model, departments have been replaced by smaller teams of colleagues with shared areas of expertise. This creates shorter lines of communication, strengthens collaboration, and provides more room for initiative and for the further development of our methods and expertise. Within this structure, several colleagues have taken on the role of team lead. Below, we introduce the teams and their team leaders.

The teams and their team leaders

The Policy Research & Analytics team, led by Roxanne van Giesen, supports policymakers with research-based insights on topics such as education, the labor market and financial security. The team combines analytical methods, including data science, machine learning and AI, with quantitative techniques such as econometrics and survey research, as well as qualitative methods such as interviews.

The Cross-national survey projects team is led by Marika de Bruijne. The team supports large-scale European research projects, including the European Social Survey and the Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe. Among other things, the team uses the DataCTRL survey tool suite, a set of software tools developed by Centerdata.

The LISS panel team is led by Miquelle Marchand and supports researchers in collecting data through the LISS panel. In addition, the team facilitates the use of existing data from the LISS Data Archive.

The Software development & Data infrastructures team, led by Arnaud Wijnant, develops and manages custom software and technical infrastructures that support scientific research and data processing. The team carries out this work both for internal use and for external partners.

Two teams are currently led by Boukje Cuelenaere, Head of Survey and Behavioral Research and a member of Centerdata’s Management Team. The Target group research team supports policymakers with research among specific target groups. The Behavioral research team provides behavioral insights for policymakers, often through experimental research.

Looking ahead

With this new organizational model, Centerdata is better equipped to grow and to carry out more and larger projects in close collaboration between teams. The new model is also designed to remain flexible. This means we can easily form new teams when emerging themes or areas of expertise require it. In this way, Centerdata continues to adapt to developments both within the organization and in society at large.
